Switching from Veryfi: cost per invoice
Veryfi charges per document with a $500 monthly minimum; Veralens bills per token. Sourced prices, measured cost, and how to move.
3 min readUpdated 18 October 2026Switch from Veryfi if you process fewer documents than its $500 monthly minimum pays for, or if you want your own field names rather than a fixed Veryfi schema. Veralens bills per token from a $5 top-up, with no minimum. To see the output first, run a sample in the playground.
Veryfi prices

Cost at your volume
The Veralens column is the measured cost of our 2-page sample invoice (PDF, 20 line items, JSON against a schema), first on vera-1.0-high, then on vera-1.0-low. The Veryfi column uses the Starter invoice price.
Measured on 2026-10-11 on the sample invoice, one job per engine. Every Veralens response shows the job's cost.
vera-1.0-high and $0.0032 on vera-1.0-low, so 1,000 of them cost $7.37 or $3.18.How to switch
- Get a key. Add funds in Billing, from $5, and create an API key.
- Write a schema that mirrors the Veryfi fields you use: vendor, line items, tax, total. You name the fields, so your mapping code gets simpler.
- Swap the call. Veryfi is
POST /api/v8/partner/documents; the Veralens call is below. - Run both on 20 invoices and compare the totals and the cost before you cut over.
You get 201 with the job in pending. Veralens is asynchronous: take the result from the webhook, or poll GET /jobs/:jobId/get every 2 to 3 seconds. The finished job reports usage.cost.
When Veryfi is the better choice
- You process thousands of documents a month on its fixed schema. At that volume its flat price per document can be the lower one; compare on your own numbers.
- You want receipt and invoice fields ready without writing a schema, including tax, line items and fraud results.
- You need SOC 2 or HIPAA listed by the vendor. Veralens has no compliance badges today.
- You want a mobile capture SDK or a free plan.
